With ‘Ram Setu’, Akshay May Finally Get A Hit & He Should Thank ‘Brahmastra’ & ‘Karthikeya 2’

After back-to-back disastrous responses to films like Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj & Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar has all his hopes pinned on his upcoming theatrical release, Ram Setu.

The Diwali release will feature Akshay Kumar as an archeologist who finds the truth behind the nature of Ram Setu.

According to RamayanaRam Setu was a bridge built by Lord Ram’s Vanara sena to reach Lanka.

The subject of the film seems interesting & has been weaved into Indian culture & mythology and has the potential to work wonders at the box office unlike last three Akshay Kumar starrers & the reason is its mythological adventure fantasy genre that has captured audiences fancy in recent months .

In August, Telugu film Karthikeya 2 starring Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead role & directed by Chandoo Mondeti surprised everyone when it turned out to be a surprise box office hit in Hindi.

The film was about Dr Karthikeya who goes on a quest to find the anklet that Lord Krishna had given to Uddhava to safeguard it as it is equipped with solutions to problems faced by humans in kalyug.

The plot of the film that talks about rich Indian culture & its mythological fantasy genre struck a chord with the audience all over India and it was declared a box office blockbuster.

Now, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt & Nagarjuna have been doing record breaking business globally despite facing boycott calls before its release.

The plot of the film, like Karthikeya 2, talks about Indian culture & mythology and the ancient Indian astras, especially the most powerful of them all Brahmastra, that needs to be safeguarded from evil forces.

The lead character of the film Shiva played by Ranbir is like the Bholenath avatar of Lord Shiva, while Dev, has taken a lot of inspiration from Lord Shiva’s Rudra avatar.

Moreover, the next big film Vikram Vedha starring Saif Ali Khan & Hrithik Roshanis a modern-age retelling of ancient Indian tales & legends of Baital Pachisi or Vikram-Betaal.
